US House Committee on Homeland Security holds hearing on 287(g)
On March 4, 2009, the US House Committee on Homeland Security, led by Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), began hearings on the effectiveness of the 287(g) program. The hearing was entitled, “Examining 287(g): The Role of State and Local Law Enforcement in Immigration Law”.
