There are various reasons why an immigrant in Georgia may be placed in one of many detention centers in the nation. Sometimes, authorities claim that someone has arrived in the country without proper authorization. Others are supposedly suspected of visa violations. Regardless of the reasons for being held, it is terrible to think that children may be being neglected in certain immigration detention centers.
A group of immigrant families has claimed that children who are in need of medical care have been neglected during their detainment. The center where these children are being held is located in another state. Reportedly, its license has been revoked because its officials broke regulations. The county has apparently appealed the revocation.
The situation at the Pennsylvania detention center has directly affected as many as 40 families. The families are seeking asylum in the United States. A group acting on their behalves has stated that the living conditions in which they are being held are inhumane.
If parents believe that their children are being denied adequate health care services or other neglect has taken place in an immigration detention center in Georgia, they can reach out for legal help. An immigration and naturalization attorney in the area is able to discuss the situation and offer guidance as to how to resolve the issues at hand. Such an attorney can also provide resources and information regarding any number of issues pertaining to an immigrant's status. A first logical step to take in seeking assistance is to request a consultation.
